Indeed, and a great way to retcon the mistakes into the plot too. When Starbuck was really screwed up, she prayed to one particular god. I think it was Aries, the Greek god of war (Roman equivalent Mars).

Can you recall which episode that was? I can remember her praying in the pilot and she is praying to the Gods of Kobol. So it would be interesting to find out if there are particular gods for particular situations.

The use of "God" instead of "gods" is just a mistake in the acting that wasn't spotted in editing. As a pilot, the Miniseries is riddled with mistakes, but it's understandable. Felix Gaeta's name is mispronounced many times by people who supposedly had been in CIC with him for years, Tigh at one point says "Jesus".
Also, in the first episode, "33", Baltar uses the incorrect term "radio" instead of "wireless".

In the miniseries there are even some not-so-obvious ones. One is where Tyrol has spent a long time aboard Ragnar Anchorage, yet (although he is a Cylon), he has not succumbed to the radiation of Ragnar. It is possible, though, that he was protected by Galactica's radiation shielding at the start, and didn't spend enough time aboard RA to become affected, (and the fact that he is different from the Superior Seven Cylons).

That makes sense. I almost forgot about that episode. I can't believe it has been almost a year since we last saw a new episode for BSG if you don't count Razor. I'm starting to get withdrawal symptoms again.

I would say that both you and Maneth are right. They do pray to either the Gods of Kobol or they pray to only one. Like you said there is one for every occasion.

Rookies! Just joking. As you get familiar with the site you will find entire topics dedicated to the mistakes on this show and everything that we have discussed to date. I don't think I entirely agree with you in regard to God and Gods. But I do agree with some of the inconsistencies in this series. The theory about Tigh is that A: he is a hybrid and therefore not prone to the radiation like the others. B: That he was still human at the time and was later replaced by a Cylon duplicate and is still on New Carpica along with Kara, and Anders. C: it is just a plot error because they didn't know who was going to be a Cylon at the time and therefore there are these inconsistencies.

Baltar at this point doesn't have a god. He could be saying GOD to mock the GODS. I actually like that better..although I think it is a slip of the tounge. He has to be forced to admit that there is "one true god" in "Hand of God". Head six does this as a learning point, or forciable conversion...ok..its a forcable conversion.
