I hope we get it April 4th and don't have to wait for it to go through independent film festivals first and wait more just to see it.

There's one little university theatre about 25 min away I go to for my "hard-to-find-but-don't-want-to-drive-to-LA-for" movies.
With any luck? They'll have it on or about the release date (if it's April or even early May).

This one looks like a lot of fun. Come on... Nazis from the moon invading Earth. What's not to enjoy?

I just went thru Entertainment Ones web site to see if they had any info at all.
Nothing yet.

Disappointing but will keep checking and hoping it hits at least some theaters.

I have my little art house theatre I go to at the University, about 1/2 hr away. It's a small venue (and screens) but at least they show the rare, hard to find movies. I'm still holding out hope they will have it probably in May....

As you know I saw it on opening night (4th of April) in Helsinki .
It was a great experience to see it in Finland. Esp since one of the jokes is really aimed at the Finns (which as cool).
If its still on in may I might take my Dutchy friend to see it again (hes coming to helsinki then)

My coworker went to see it as one of the pre/showings and after movie they went for beers with the director who wanted to know what everyone thought :) Thats prty cuhl

In the bookstore I saw this 'Nšin tehtiin Iron Sky' book. Which I think tells the story of how the movie came to be.
From Star Wreck which is also by Timo Vuorensola (and I also can advice :P) to Iron Sky.
And also some about the lucrative way they financed the movie (you could buy into the movie resulting in an insane long credit list with everyone who bought a 'piece' of the movie).
But since it's in Finnish .. I could only make out as much. Looked like a cool coffee table book though :)

Finally US dates have started and a unique approach for additional screenings.

My wife and I saw Iron Sky last week at a local theater.

We both thoroughly enjoyed it. A great mix of drama, comedy and politics.
We will definitely be getting the blu-ray. A couple more showings are in early stages of planning.
I wouldn't mind seeing it one more time in the theater.

On of my fellow Diaspora team members actually worked on the CGI for this, so I've been following it for a very, very long time.

Loved the film. A lot better than most of the dross Hollywood puts out.

Didn't get the chance to see it in a theatre, but it looks right up my alley. I will probably just buy the Blu ray when it comes out. I look forward to it....

If I knew I had the time commitment necessary to keep up with the deadlines I would have volunteered when they were looking for help.

I just read a video game is being released soon, and a prequel and sequel could be in the works.

Based on what I've read (as well as your word and Nan's), I am VERY much looking forward to this one. I'm always interested in seeing lower budgeted scifi efforts that really use their limited resources much more creatively. I regard Duncan Jones' "MOON" (2009) as one of the prime examples of this; made for $5 million (that's the budget of the 2nd lead hairstylist on some Hollywood productions), and made with a lot of miniatures and in camera effects, the movie looks much 'bigger.'

I often find these kinds of films to be more ambitious than the "Transformers" or Michael Bay sort of movies, because their obstacles HAVE to be solved creatively; they can't just throw money at something, or patch it all up with a ton of CGI. I'm a firm believer in the view that art thrives on limitations....
