Based on what I've read (as well as your word and Nan's), I am VERY much looking forward to this one. I'm always interested in seeing lower budgeted scifi efforts that really use their limited resources much more creatively. I regard Duncan Jones' "MOON" (2009) as one of the prime examples of this; made for $5 million (that's the budget of the 2nd lead hairstylist on some Hollywood productions), and made with a lot of miniatures and in camera effects, the movie looks much 'bigger.'
I often find these kinds of films to be more ambitious than the "Transformers" or Michael Bay sort of movies, because their obstacles HAVE to be solved creatively; they can't just throw money at something, or patch it all up with a ton of CGI. I'm a firm believer in the view that art thrives on limitations....
