As our dear Nan explained it to me, subtexters are sort of a subgenre in fandom that look for gay subtext in otherwise 'straight' movies and TV. Sometimes its PAINFULLY obvious and practically written in blood on the screen ("Xena" "Batman and Robin" Gaius and Gaeta), other times it's slightly more subtle ("CHiPs", "Top Gun", "Galactica 1980" etc).
Nan is a subtext master....


As for Katee, did she REALLY say that?!? Wow. She struck me as so 'fan-friendly' when I met her... kind of sad.

As for Katee or when I am mad at her, Ms. Sackhoff. Is a fan-friendly lady. I just so happened to get too inclined with the fan emails, where she promptly instructed me to stop as she found them to be creepy and stalkerish. I objected. I deleted her off of Facebook. And about 4 weeks later turned around and apologized to her, where she gracefully accepted my apology and we have been facebook buddies ever since. Ta da!

So, while she probably could have chosen her words more carefully, I could have in turn been more aware of what I was doing and how it was coming across to her at the time, and thus, this man knows his limitations.

Interesting I was talking with a friend about this talking to your idols online thing.
I prefer not to ... I dont really have a good reason why. I prefer my picture of them to be spotless... hence the reason IM not on Twitter stalking ATapps or miss Jovovich

I prefer my 'image' to reality sometimes, too. It also makes it all the more fun if or when I actually DO meet them in person (the overwhelming number of celebrity encounters I've had over the years have been positive ones). I'd hate to break the ice with "Hey! Remember me? I'm your 1,764,387th follower on Twitter". I think the notion of celebrity has been 'cheapened' a bit with social media, to be honest.

Although I have emailed a TV writer/producer I admire, and have gone back and forth with him online a few times (I've emailed him maybe 2-3 times a year or so, at MOST). But this was after I'd meet him at Comic Con and he invited the fans there to email him. So, it felt a little more 'appropriate' and not stalkerish.

The closest I've come to any celebrity contact is exchanging emails with a couple of authors I've read. But I usually don't bother unless I have a special purpose in mind, cause I figure they've got better things to do than hear me gush about how they're the bestest author ever.

That and hiring the one writer, Christie Golden, to critique my novel. She turned out to be a very nice person.

Often times, the higher up the ladder? The nicer they are (I've had very nice meet-and-greet encounters with Leonard Nimoy, Ray Bradbury, EJO, Buzz Aldrin and others).

It's the lower level (or newer) celebrities you gotta watch out for.
They can be real sh!theads sometimes (I'd name names, but I don't feel like stooping right now...).

By the way, there'd be a burger day at Casa OT. My friend who came over today told me that my burgers are WAY better than restaurant or even fast food burgers (confirming what Mrs T told me a while ago). I told them that the secret was in the extra BBQ flavor seasonings I work into the meat itself and the honey wheat/sesame seed buns. And don't skimp on the pickles... they're important. They give it tartness.

So, burgers at Casa OT.... I'm cooking!

I'm just working on my house's green screen FX (my living room is just a coffee table and couch with a green screen behind it at the moment).
Should be ready by Christmas of 2013 or so.
