Cool topic. And I'm FIRST! HA

My color: A nice Orange

Technically it is RGB: 221,98,21
CMYK: 9,74,100,1
#DD6215
..Lab, who cares.
Why? For the psychological effects of orange I researched:
-Calls up excitement, enthusiasm, and warmth
-Combines red's and yellow's stimulating attributes
-A "happy" hue with a strong personality that pleases active, self-confident people. It seems that dancers are often attracted to orange. Those who find orange too strong often find such as terra-cotta, peach or amber more acceptable as they retain some of the attributes of orange.
-Orange has shown to have only positive affects on your emotional state. This color relieves feelings of self-pity, lack of self-worth and unwillingness to forgive. Orange opens your emotions and is a terrific antidepressant.
^And you Colonials need all that happy crap to survive the Cylon Onslaught. And the orange / earth tone colors are a main stay of the Classic Colonial Warrior's uniform. And the "alert" times had a red orange tone to them too. GO ORANGE!

RED IS MY COLOUR

I picked RED (PANTONE 186 RED to be exact) I won't bore you with all specs behind the colour.
I picked red because it is significant of the blood that has been shed over the colonies.
It symbolic representation has been seen in the Cylons and in the survivors of the colonies.
What colour best to utilize to depict the anger, the sorrow and courage of the colonial fleet.
Also it is the colour of my favorite squadron that always seems to be charging in first, RED SQUADRON.
I hope you like my depiction.

My entry. I thought since it's a gradient entry it needs to have one focal point otherwise it wont look right (in my eyes). I thought I would use the BSG logo and make it as a tribute to the fallen. I chose dark blue because its somber and the colour of the dress uniforms.
