Agreed. And a Robocop reboot has "bad idea" all over it.
They spent two sequels, and two short-lived TV series trying to nail the magic of the original movie. It never happened...

Many of my favorite movies of yesteryear (Solaris, 2001, Robinson Crusoe on Mars, etc) would NEVER be greenlighted by a major studio these days.

Definitely agree. Science and Star Wars have never crossed paths. Plus, it fits the archetypes of fantasy better. Starcraft is the same way.

I have never watched it so I can't say.
It wouldn't surprise me if Glee and shows like it really are well written. There are a lot of shows out there in the same situation.
