Introducing the Pyramid Table version of the Agree, Disagree forum. Author posts a statement that you either agree or disagree with giving a brief description for your choice followed by a new statement.

NS: The cast of nu Star Trek did a good job of infusing qualities of the original ST cast as well as establishing their own unique characteristics providing a good bridge between new fans and old fans.

Pretty much agree. The movie was a decent hit, if not a blockbuster. I've met several young people online whose first contact with Trek was the new movie, and who've gone on to enjoy the original shows since. So the new movie is attracting new fans to the franchise.

(This game'll probably attract more interest if the statements aren't too complicated.)

NuBSG is better than the original.

Agreed. In every measurable way; drama, special effects, character development, plausibility, etc. It's just a better show.
Not to say TOS doesn't have it's place, mind you. IMO, it is still fun family centered entertainment (I grew up watching it with my family; I still have much affection for it as well). But NuBSG is far superior in every way; absolutely!


New Statement:
The Star Wars prequels (including the Clone Wars CGI cartoons) are (ultimately) hollow, superficial, slickly-made but weak entries in the Star Wars universe that (for me) detract from the Star Wars brand name, rather than add to it. In hindsight, I'd have rather that Lucas just made the original trilogy (New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi) and left it at that. It was better to have not seen what happened, because the prequels I saw in my mind's eye were MUCH better!

Almost completely agree but for me only up to the last 20 minutes of Revenge Of The Sith. I liked what they did with Ben and Vader. Phantom Menace was horrific.

NS: Blade Runner really is where it all started.

(yet the telephone pales in comparison to TV or radio)

a direct brain to brain communication will eventually replace regular communication (replacing the "translation" into concepts like words and images, the same way a computer calculates in its own language - and only at the very end translates its result into displays or sounds if it wants to interact with a non connected entity ... in other wors will math replace other "means of human communication")

Disagree. Anything's possible if you look far enough into the future, but I can't picture that happening unless the human race undergoes major psychological changes, the type it would take tens of thousands if not millions of years to produce.

NuCenturions were under utilized in the show. They could have been much more "terminator" like always attacking, no matter what. They were not as impressive as they could have been.

Agree I guess? They are a good band. 7/10 although I haven't listened to them in ages.

Disagree; something tells me that it'll be too much like his other stuff (such as ALIAS).



The holodeck was one of the WORST plot crutches of all of the post-TOS Star Trek series...
