This mod is amazing looking and once it is completed, you will not need to have Freespace, it will run on its on.

Sounds like going through their threads that somebody leaked the Alpha of the mod, they were trying to keep it under wraps

the Alpha release is virtually like Beta testers before a demo except a Alpha version has alot less stuff than a Beta version, one of the staff members decided to take it upon himself and release it to the public before anybody could take action on it

However this is before the team has made improvements and added the Pegasus etc

The demo according to the mod team is coming out soon

Heres something good, Freespace 2 is a free game because it is no longer sold and they've put it on the internet

Wow, it's new for me. I thought that the FS2's source code was made free, not the whole game. Anyway... I can't wait to get into my Viper, and blow up some frackin' toaster... laugh.gif

Now, THIS is what I call a surprise. Too bad I own the original game (and you can imagine, I don't have a bunch of orig. games... biggrin.gif).

I wonder whether they're going to implement the semi-realistic flying physics (the blast-pipes of the Vipers, to be more precise)?

I had Freespace 1 but lost it somehow and been looking for it for a long time...........i downloaded FS2 figuring it be good to get in some game experience so i feel comfortable with the controls

I recommend anybody getting FP2 from Underdogs.info to download via the BitTorrent link because their usual downloader is very slow and BitTorrent ensures a under 4 hour finishing speed at around 150kb on broadband or higher

Although we can download with a speed up to 250 kb/s, I've never been able to download something with more than 80 kb/s... Although there were often more than enough seeds and peers.

I just hope that the leak of the alpha version doesn't really slow down the development... sad.gif

Good to hear that. I've just checked the official site, and I was REALLY impressed... Seeing that pilot and cockpit inside the MK7 made me clear that they really squeeze out EVERYTHING they can from the FS2 engine.

Another really cool mod I'm keen for besides E:TCW...

BSG: Beyond the Red Line is still ongoing despite the announcement of an official BSG game being made.
In their forum they said the Demo was being made so hopefully we see it soon
