As Q also said, "In order for things to have value, they have to come to an end."
But that was in that godsawful Voyager episode and so perhaps doesn't merit mentioning. I think Six put it better but I can't recall the exact quote.

It seems the ending may NOT be so ambiguous after all (no spoilers, it's safe folks); http://www.tvguide.com/News/MegaBuzz-Battl...ys-1004144.aspx I'm worried that (like during the mutiny arc) I may need to have a car battery and jumper cables to revive me in case my heart stops!

Voyager was the only Trek I gave up on, about the time they wrote out Kes to make room for Seven of Nine. The only time after that I watched was the series finale.
