Why did six implant a chip into Baltar's Head knowing that the colonies were going to be attacked?

Here's an interesting question and lets see if any of you can give me an answer. Why did Six implant a chip into Baltar's head knowing that the colonies were going to be attacked. To turn him into a skinjob? Maybe the chip was to make a copy of his memories and to be downloaded into the Cylon mainframe? I'm baffled! Someone tell me!

Perhaps I'm forgetting stuff already :S

Cottle didn't find anything, I'm betting she was just messing with his head. Even if the chips were cylon tech somehow designed to meld indistinguishably with human brain tissue, they would've been forced to keep him in a coma for months at least to let his skull grow back together again and his scalp heal. They don't seem to have the sort of tech required to, say, instantly fuse broken bones back together again.

That's true! I guess she just wanted to give him a good scare! Or did she plant something on him?!

Both you and Maneth are on the same page. There seems to be consensus that she didn't have time to implant anything in his head or she's playing mind games with him. Perhaps to scare him into submission so that she can control him better? Could be...

Any other thoughts?!!

I hope you're right Captain! I never liked the whole "happened before, and will happen again" concept in the series. Kind of a cop out. You know like The Matrix movies!

I don't think it was meant to symbolize fear, maybe self doubt? He obviously thought something was in his head and practically freaked... seeing as Cottle didn't find anything, I don't think he'll totally forget about it, it will be something that will always be in the back of his mind (the idea anyways).

Taking the point of view that Cottle didn't find anything then the thought was just a suggestion to disturb him or make him think he is being monitored or bugged, but also seeing that Cylon technology is somewhat more advanced then it is also possible that she did plant something and they just haven't been able to find it.

Considering the fact that Caprica Six sees a hallucinated version of Baltar as well, after her resurrection at Zero Hour, I doubt she could have put a chip in herself (and she is shocked, confused and baffled at her sudden hallucination, just as Baltar was)
