Both you and Maneth are on the same page. There seems to be consensus that she didn't have time to implant anything in his head or she's playing mind games with him. Perhaps to scare him into submission so that she can control him better? Could be...
Any other thoughts?!!

I hope you're right Captain! I never liked the whole "happened before, and will happen again" concept in the series. Kind of a cop out. You know like The Matrix movies!

I don't think it was meant to symbolize fear, maybe self doubt? He obviously thought something was in his head and practically freaked... seeing as Cottle didn't find anything, I don't think he'll totally forget about it, it will be something that will always be in the back of his mind (the idea anyways).
