Just opened my G80 DVD's and watched "Galactica Discovers Earth, Part 1" It starts out good, then goes into to the "fish out of water" gags that tire very quickly. Thankfully, part 2 of this episode makes up for it, but, the same can not be said for the rest of the series.

Questions:
How did Apollo die during the 30 year gap between TOS and G80?
If no one has seen the Cylons in over "a billion star miles" how does Dr. Zee know about them.

Which version of Dr. Zee? The cousin Oliver one or the British kid? Between the two, I can handle the latter.

It was better in many respects than what we give credit for. I think when Adama realizes that he has unintentionally led the Cylons to Earth. You can see how consumed he is with grief. Also what was cool about this opening was the revelation that the Cylons have been improving and upgrading their combat systems and technology despite that they have not seen or heard from the Cylons in a number of years. Cylons just waiting to attack. As a kid the show was really cool. I loved the flying motorcycles and watching them defy Earth's gravity. Rewriting the formula for Nuclear fission was brilliant. I liked it.

The flying bikes were okay. What I thought was cool about this episode was that I recognized all of the Los Angeles locations.

They picked all the key landmarks in this episode. I loved watching the Capitol Records building being blown up by the Cylons in the mock scenario of what would happen if the Cylons attacked Earth.
