Not knowing for sure if this has been covered or not. But in BSG (new) we have seen Toasters that look like those from the original series. And it was those whom it seems fought in the first war, and the more modern (cgi) type came later. Yet it seems as though what has been established, is being thrashed aside with the new Caprica based series type of CGI's and those we were lead to believe did come first are gone.
Or have I been hitting the blood wine a bit too much, while watching ???

No, you haven't.
In the pilot miniseries (BSG 2003) there was a 1978 model toaster (basically a hollowed out replica of the costume) behind glass in the 'museum' hangar bay. In "Razor" they ret-conned the original toasters to look less 'humanoid' with clearly mechanized parts and obviously non-human configuration (rendered in CGI). If you remember in "Daybreak" part 3, we see the same glass cased centurion, only now he resembles the CGI toasters we saw in "Razor."
Now the toasters we see in Caprica are basically a slightly more primitive version of their Razor-vintage descendants.
It's a little like how Ellen Tigh turned from being producer David Eick's wife, into actress Kate Vernon!
Original Ellen (in the mini):

vs the Kate Vernon incarnation:

Now we have "museum toaster" in the original mini:

vs. the 'ret-conned' model, seen in "Daybreak, part 3"

No bloodwine delusion; you were right!

Yeah there was the new BSG mini classic cylon and that was dropped later in the new series. What a bummer! Good eye Farquard.
