I want to see this movie pretty badly but I know Mrs P isn't going to be in to it. I need to find time to go to the cinema on my own LOL.

Yes, it's brilliant.

Great blog post once again! Really liked your analysis and I do agree with you on most points. In fact, I don't disagree on anything. For me as a language freak, one of the most interesting things is the apparent ability of at least the replicants to understand any language.

Secondly, so glad you saw the movie! Am I wrong for saying that I already like it more than my beloved original? :lol:

And yes, those replicants are pretty bright (for skinjobs...hehe :P ).

No, actually I think I agree with you on that too. Of course, I've seen the original about five times over the last thirty or so years, but certainly Deckard was a much more interesting character in the new movie. Seems like Ford just went through the motions in the original, which is rather a shame...

His performance in the first film is somewhat shallow by comparison. Ford is one of those actors, like Clint Eastwood or Morgan Freeman, who have become far more interesting as they get older.
