So here's where I reveal I'm a bad Trekkie at times and say I still haven't finished watching this show... perhaps that'll be my next few days. I'm somewhere in season 7 but end up getting distracted by all the shiny new shows all the time.

Understandable.
Thatís a reason why Iím personally afraid to try to follow too many shows at once; there arenít enough hours in a day, or days in a week to watch it all (!).

For every good show I follow, I know there are at least a dozen or more equally excellent shows that Iím ignoring.
This is one of the downsides to living in a new golden age of television...

With a few exceptions, I tend to enjoy serialized shows more than episodic ones. DS9 is definitely my favorite Trek show.

I also enjoyed your blog OT, DS9 was a great turn in the Trek Universe.
My kids just gave me the DVDs for Christmas and I am going to dive back and relive what a well done show this was.

Thanks Bill! And yes, Iím rewatching the early seasons too. I also agree with maneth that its my favorite ST since the original.
In fact, DS9, TOS and TAS are the only ST series that I own in completion.

I think the way things are going, movies are the new Ďepisodicí TV shows, and TV are becoming more like novels. And as an avid reader, Iím perfectly okay with that. :D

Thanks for that!

Iíve gotten a CRAZY amount of traffic on this post; about 3,800 hits yesterday and about 1,800 today (so far).
I even got a comment on my blog from Robert Hewitt-Wolfe (!); one of the DS9 writer/producers. That really made my New Yearís Eve.
After a year of struggling, my blog is really getting traffic now. Like I joke to my wife, itís a year-long overnight success.
