Hi, I'm here. Sorry to have been absent, but I've been exhausted following the antibiotic stuff. Didn't mean to worry you.

Whew!

Hope you’re feeling better, at least (?). :)

Aww, thanks OT!

Sorry I've been absent again. I was sick all weekend, spent most of my time on the couch, and I had to go to the doc again on Monday. I'm now on my third course of antibiotics in about a month... Got my sinuses X-rayed too, but apparently it's not a problem that can be solved by puncturing. To top it all off, I have bronchitis too. The doc gave me a certificate for four days off with pay.

I'm just happy my employer actively encourages telecommuting, so I'll work from home on Friday.

I hope you had a great Labor Day!

Wow. You and my wife both had medical issues over this weekend. She’s recovering as well.

Anyway, glad you’re back!

She had another 'episode’ on Friday night (I don’t want to divulge too much of her medical history openly). It’s been a tough year for her, but she’s managing.
She felt well enough to go to the movies yesterday and back to school today (yesterday was a holiday).

Irma's closing in on Florida... by Sunday night my dads house will be directly in the eye of it.

While everyone else leaves for shelter, his method of dealing with it is to lock himself indoors, drink a lot and currently the only protection he has against the storm is a rifle and a knife.

I applaud his commitment to American citizenship, but this is not a good plan.

No... no it’s not.
My goodness, I hope he’s safe in spite of his impossible lack of good judgment (no offense to your dad).

Oh no, full offense is due. He's a complete and utter tit.

He updated Facebook five hours ago with: "I think I have made the biggest mistake and miss judgement in my life...Oh well..."

Positive side is that with the new projections take him out of the direct/central path. Hopefully it keep leaning west so it'll take the pressure off the denser areas.

A friend of mine forsook Comic Con San Diego this year to vacation in Disneyworld in Florida (!); she had to leave early as per the evacuation order. She’s in Washington D.C. right now (thank goodness!).

Thats some bad luck right there :/

Thankfully everything worked out. The towns trashed, but with the eye moving west the only damage to the house was a broken window. The only major damage to my dads home was that the hurricane proof shed may have been mislabelled :P

Yeah, my friend got VERY lucky. She altered her road trip plans quite drastically, but is currently having the time of her life right now in New York City (she’d never been; told her she’d love it, and she has...).

And your dad’s ‘hurricane proof’ shed... yeah, I can imagine it wasn’t quite so hurricane-proof.
