And yesterday, I trimmed the tree while Mrs T napped; she woke up to find the little tree (a plastic one; about a meter high) all decorated & lit.
And today, I had a nervous clerk at the bookstore goof on my order. I told him it was OK, let him get his manager to fix it, and I told them both to have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas. He was visibly relieved, I could tell. In the end, I got my member discount, got to use a nice hefty coupon (saved even a bit more money) and I finished a bit of Christmas/birthday shopping for a few people. And earlier in the day, Mrs T and I saw the Hunger Games sequel.
It was a nice day and losing my cool at a poor, nervous clerk (for no reason) would've only ruined it...

Awwww... that's sweet.
Other than going to the gym yesterday, Mrs T and I refused to be part of the "Black Friday" madness that has gripped the United States. I think, even as a former retail employee (over 26 years), this has gone too far. People are missing quality time with their loved ones and getting in fights (and even killing each other!) over 'bargain shopping.'
So we made the choice to NOT be part of it. I'd rather pay a few more bucks than act like a hungry tiger fighting over a scrap of meat....

Put a bit of extra kindness out into the world; who knows? It might come back to you someday when you need it...
