Would love to see a movie that appeals to fans of the Classic BSG and the new BSG. ;)

I hope Bryan Singer makes up his mind about doing it or not doing it and make way for someone with the gumption to make an imaginative movie.

He's already dropped it.... again (this marks the third time he's huffed and puffed and nothing happened).
It's no longer listed as 'in development' on his IMDB page: Bryan Singer/IMDB

I hate to say I told you so, but... well, I told you so.

Frankly? I'm glad he didn't; BSG just ended it's successful reboot three years ago. It's not time yet for another, and IMO, they got it right the last time anyway.
There's no need and (judging from B&C's online-only release) probably no market for it, either. I don't see what a second reboot (several years after the last one) would really bring to the table, except for a single movie with the entire, complex story of the franchise dumbed down for a wide audience, or a continuation of TOS (which would be a bit of a laughing stock to modern audiences who only know BSG from it's sophisticated progeny). Reeks of bad idea....

I don't think Singer will EVER make a BSG project. Just a lot of smoke and mirrors forever... gotten REALLY old. Yep.

How morbid! I personally think it would have been fun to resurrect the old version of Galactica and have them do a movie on it.

I don't want to wait another 20 years for more Galactica! :cylon-pancarte03:

I know Bryan (Huff and Puff) Singer won't do it, but if anyone's thinking of reviving the old show? I'd wait a while longer. Again; too soon... :cylonnono:

You can't go back to the '70 ideas without being laughed off the screen. And frankly, with all of the changes in the scifi genre that have occurred over the last 30 years? 'faithful' remake (or continuation) of TOS would probably be virtually indistinguishable from the last reboot (except for a more "G"-rated tone and furry robot dogs). Again; bad idea.... :cylonnono:

Adama said it best in 'War of the Gods', "You can't turn back time." (Of course, this was before the pint-sized abomination known as Dr. Zee did just that in G1980)... :P

I think the new Robocop will eventually hit the screen before ANY Singer BSG. Remakes seem to be starting to fade.

No one is asking anyone to turn back time, but would love them to do a remake of the old version. Just for old time sake. Need my fix!

Yes, remakes are not being done as much because people are not putting the thought into them that they should. Poor writing is the main culprit.
Poor casting is it's kissing cousin.

DeSanto and Singer did quite a bit YEEARS AGO... but yeah, wound up nowhere. I hope they do keep on TOS BSG as well, CT. And you are SOOO right on the writing these days - the studios just want money, not quality products.

Check out the 2001 DeSanto Singer stuff over at ByYourCommad.net's gallery - we got it going ON! :)
